INCOMPLETES
Incompletes must be arranged with the teacher, and the work must be completed within one semester or the grade earned without the missing work will be recorded on the transcript.
HONOR ROLL
Each quarter the Honor Roll will be computed. Grade-point averages of 3.0 to 3.49 will be posted in the Counselor’s List. Grade-point averages from 3.5 to 3.99 will be posted in the Principal’s List. Grade-point averages of all A’s (4.0) will be posted in the Trustee’s List.
GRADING IN MUSICAL PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATIONS
Membership in school musical performance groups for grades 5-12 requires a one-year commitment. However, continued membership for second semester is by invitation and/or audition only. Grades for performance organizations are based on performance and rehearsal attendance as well as positive participation. One performance absence will lower the grade by one letter. Two performance absences will result in a failing grade.
SCHOLASTIC PROBATION
Any student who earns an F or two D’s or has a GPA below 2.0, shall be placed on Scholastic Probation and excluded from school activities listed below:
1. The student cannot hold office. If currently in office, the student has until the midterm to get off scholastic probation. If the student remains on probation, s/he must resign office.
2. Students on scholastic probation may not attend certain extracurricular functions such as Outdoor School, Band/Choir Festival, etc. Field trips and music tours may be allowed by special consideration on an individual student basis by the Academic Standards Committee. (Students with two D’s may be considered eligible for music tours. Students with any failing grades will not be considered eligible.)
3. The student may not be on a varsity or junior varsity team.
CHEATING
Cheating is treated as a serious behavioral problem. Cheating is answering questions on a quiz or assignment in a manner not allowed by the teacher. For example: copying from others, using notes during a test, sharing homework when the instructions are to work alone, and turning in a paper as your own when it is copied partly or entirely from other sources without giving proper credit, are all cheating. In the same manner, students may not use computers or other electronic devices in a dishonest way. Parents will be contacted, and the student will receive a zero or grade of F for the assignment. Further offenses may result in more significant disciplinary action and may result in a failing grade for the course.
