The main focus of the Counseling center is to help students have a successful school experience. As a student advocate, Mrs. Verduzco focuses on the well being of each student and encourages personal success and academic achievement. This is done by meeting with the student and creating a plan for the year. This may also involve sharing personal and family issues and learning how to work through them.
How do I get counseling?
Students who want to see Mrs. Verduzco during the school day can stop by at anytime during a free class, lunch or after school. They can also request to see her during class time by filling out a "Request to see the Counselor" slip located in the front office and in the Counseling Center. Parents, Teachers and staff can also refer a student to the counseling center.
What services are offered?
The Counseling Center offers student support services for San Diego Academy K-12 Students, families and staff. These services include:
- Individual, academic and behavior counseling.
- Mediation and student intervention services.
- Career testing and college counseling.
- Study skills and School management.
The Counseling Center also offers referrals for outside services with public and private agencies.
Mrs. Verduzco welcomes the opportunity to meet with students and parents. Appointments are available during the school day and after school. You can also contact Mrs. Verduzco in case of a counseling emergancy throughh the school office at 619-267-9550
